NT Correctional Services (NTCS), Department of Attorney General and Justice requires a suitably qualified independent expert in matching prison design with correctional outcomes to be a member of the Executive Steering Committee, Project Commissioning responsible for oversight of an expansion project, including system and infrastructure reform to support rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners, towards reducing recidivism.The independent expert in matching prison design with correctional outcomes will support the implementation of the expansion project operationalising 2 new women’s correctional centres and co-develop with NTCS a therapeutic health-based model for women’s correctional centres.The expert in matching prison design with correctional outcomes will be required from July 2024 for a period of approximately 12 months.The expert in matching prison design with correctional outcomes should be recognised as having expertise in criminal justice in Australia, including demonstrated research, alongside experience in correctional services reform and prior consultancy work.
