The Abilities Based Learning & Education Support (ABLES) materials are developed by the Victorian Department of Education and Training, with the support of the University of Melbourne - and NT DoE has been granted a license to use the materials in its sites. The ABLES tool, and materials are evidenced based and used across Australia and internationally. A comparative resource has not yet been developed in the Northern Territory. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and an agreement exists between the Victorian Department of Education and Training and the Northern Territory Department of Education (NT DoE), for the NT DoE to use the ABLES tool and materials available online, train the trainer model and upon payment of a yearly subscription fee. This agreement has to be renewed yearly through ongoing payment or through securing a 5-year agreement. Currently, DoE do not have a contract in place to support this agreement. The contract will be for 60 Months beginning 2021.
