Short and long-term foster care in a family environment is provided under this service. A child may be placed in short term care while their family situation is assessed and at the end of the short term they may be returned to their family or placed in long term care. Long-term care is provided for children that cannot be returned to their families until the family circumstances change or the child turns 18.
