The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (DAWE) awarded the grant ‘Building contemporary molecular diagnostic capability for northern Australia’ to NT Department of Industry Tourism and Trade (DITT) to enhance diagnostic capability for identifying plant pests and diseases. As part of this funding, specialised sequencing equipment will be purchased to enable DITT to perform quality control of ribonucleic Acid (RNA) and deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) samples for next generation sequencing required to meet milestones of the project. DITT require one 4150 TapeStation System with the following minimum specifications: · Exterior dimensions (WDH) 254 mm x 510 mm x 417 mm · Weight 17.8 kg · Capability for analysis of nucleic acids for up to 16 samples per run · Ability to switch between DNA and RNA ScreenTape assays for application flexibility · Ability to perform self-maintenance by easy removal and change of electrode cartridge DITT also requires reagents and plasticware which are suitable for use on the 4150 TapeStation System for 240 samples to be analysed over the project lifetime (30 June 2023): · Screen Tape for the analysis of genomic DNA · Reagents including ladder and sample buffer for analysis of genomic DNA · Plasticware including loading tips, optical strip caps and optical tubes for the analysis of genomic DNA
