Darwin - McMillans Road - Pedestrian Crossing Facility at Northlakes

The Works involves the construction of a new, two-staged, signalised pedestrian crossing facility across McMillans Road Ch 4.400km (adjacent Northlakes). The new signalised pedestrian crossing is to be constructed at the western end of the existing carpark, 16m east of an existing footpath to facilitate safe access at close proximity to the Shopping Centre Entrance. The new pedestrian crossing will tie into an existing footpath on the northern side of McMillans Road and will provide access to the Shopping Centre carpark through a ramp on the southern side of McMillans Road. The crossing facility will also include a pedestrian refuge in the McMillans Road median strip.Fencing is included to provide additional safety for the pedestrians at the crossing.Thrust boring and open trenching is also required for the installation of conduits and irrigation.The scope of the works also include south verge upgrade by construction of irrigation along the south verge between Links Road (East) and Link Road (West).
