The project aims to reinstate and seal the existing road shoulders to reduce maintenance and improve road safety on the Kakadu Highway between Chainage CM: 5.7km and 11.4km.Works include reformation and re-compaction of shoulders to be approximately 1m wide to achieve an 8m wide carriageway - using reclaimed and top up material. Allow 150mm top up with Type 2/3 gravel material, rip and re-compact to 95% MMDD, Grade shoulder to match existing road crossfall - Chainage 5.7km - 11.4km, both sides of the road.Type 2 gravel to be imported and blended with the best locally available material from the nominated gravel pit. Regrade disturbed batters and drains. Form and pour concrete shoulders and batter protection at culvert crossings.
