The Northern Territory is working to implement the NT’s Roadmap towards COVID-Safe Freedoms. As part of this, the Department of Health have reviewed the Royal Darwin Hospital COVID surge plan. DoH have identified a potential increase in COVID positive patients being admitted to Royal Darwin Hospital. The hospital does not have capacity to manage a large increase in COVID positive patients. Due to the timeframes set in the Roadmap and the Christmas shut down period of industry, the requirement to assess and identify the modifications to the mechanical services in regards to the ventilation has been deemed urgent. A review of the recommendations and preparation for the tender documentation of the works component can then occur.
