Due to the recent flood events within the Barkly Region, Kurundi Rd was closed and urgent repair and gravel reinstatement are required to reinstate the road to its preexisting condition. The primary objective is to fill and reform multiple locations along Kurundi Road where significant scouring and pavement stripping have occurred. These activities form part of the Immediate Reinstatement Works (IRW) program to restore trafficability and ensure road-user safety following extensive flood damage under Event 1258 - Barkly Region Secondary and Local Roads Emergency Reinstatement. The scope and quantities for these works are referenced in the Bill of Quantity and Road Defect Log Sheet (as attached). Scope of works includes but is not limited to: - Placement of suitable fill material to reinstate washed-out pavement sections - Reinstatement and reformation of pavement to match existing road profiles - Restoration of road geometry, including table drains and shoulders where affected. - Supply, placement and grading of materials to re-establish a safe running surface.
