To support and maintain safe road access for community and cattle industry, a temporary side-tract access is required to accommodate all vehicle types, including heavy vehicles and trucks. This measure is essential to provide safe access, minimising operational delays and preserving connectivity for all road users. The side-track will provide safe access between Murray Downs Station and the Ampilatwatjacommunity, covering an approximate distance of 106 Km. Establishing this side-tract will ensure that all vehicles can travel safely throughout the community. These activities form part of the Immediate Reinstatement Works (IRW) program to restore trafficability and ensure road-user safety following extensive flood damage under Event 1258 - Barkly Region Secondary and Local Roads Emergency Reinstatement. SCOPE OF WORKS:The scope includes, but is not limited to: - Traffic Management Plan (TMP) including Traffic Guide Signs fTGS) - Clearing, grading and shaping of the side-track route to a safe and trafficable formation - Placement of gravel and suitable material where required to re-establish a safe running surface - Time and dated stamped photographs The intent of these works is to provide a temporary, safe and reliable access route for vehicles including road trains and cattle truck while future pavement restoration works is under process.
