A general outline of the work to be carried out under the Contract comprises of the reformation and re-sheeting of Maningrida Access Road to re-construct the existing 9.0m wide gravel pavement, as per Standard Drawing CS3609-Typical Cross-Section for Unsealed Rural Roads. Works also include reinstatement of table drains, offlet drains and table drain blocks.Works include:· Win existing sound material to reform a 150mm thick Sub-Grade and compact to 95% MMDD (3m wide traffic lanes with 1.5m shoulders). Maintain road alignments.· Import, place and compact 200 mm thick type 2 or 3 gravel basecourse compacted to 95% MMDD, free of organic matter.· Provide trapezoidal shaped flat bottom drains a minimum of 400mm depth below natural surface level and ensure drains are compacted and free flowing.· Compact table drain blocks and offlets to 95% MMDD ensuring offlets are effective and provided at appropriate intervals.· Provide a finished gravel surface trimmed and tightly compacted, conforming to the standards in the CONFORMANCE TESTING section. Maintain pavement dimensions in accordance with drawing CS3609.· During the works, provide the final quantities for each pit to DIPL Project Manager.
