Power and Water Corporation requires experienced metering field contractors to support the replacement of approximately 49,500 manually read electricity meters with smart meters across regulated networks, minor centres, and remote Indigenous communities, and to install modems on existing smart meters without communications. Works must comply with Power and Water’s Metering Manual NP010 and Chapter 7A of the National Electricity Rules (Northern Territory). The project spans urban, rural, and remote locations, with communications using 4G, CAT-M1, and NB-IoT technologies predominantly via the Telstra network.
