The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) is upgrading the Adelaide River to Wadeye Road and sections of the Port Keats Road have been prioritised for construction with the section from Palumpa to Port Keats being priority 1. The road will be reconstructed to a two lane seal (8m seal on a 10m formation). The gravel and construction material investigation is to identify potential sources of material for road construction and to assist in extraction agreements with NLC. The works will supplement previous investigations recently undertaken in existing Mineral Extraction Areas (MEAs).
