The Tractor will be used in and around the Barkley Region at the Juno Training Centre at the Tennant Creek High School NT. The Juno Centre at Tennant Creek trains students in a wide range of activities in the pastoral and horticulture industry. The 250ha property is leased from the Barkly Regional Council and is inhabited with cattle and horses. A current agency owned 70 HP tractor is working outside its capacity and specifications. The replacement Tractor will be used predominately used to move large bales of hay to feed the livestock, each bale of hay weighs .75 of a tonne (750 kilograms), which must be unloaded from a truck, placed in a shed and fed out to the live-stock at the appropriate time. The Centre uses around 300 bales of hay per year. A tractor with an engine capacity of 110 HP is required. The tractor will also be used to unload pallets of fertiliser, show cattle concentrate and fencing material. It will also be used to cultivate and seed down newly cleared paddocks as well as slash weeds around the fire breaks. The Tractor must conform to regional climate conditions and must be a highly manoeuvrable, versatile machine that is suitable for heavy duty farm work and earthmoving applications. The Tractor must be practical for heavy duty loading, pallet and hay lifting and fencing projects. It must also be capable of being quickly converted by the use of various attachments to operate as a loader and pallet/hayfork attachment. The Tractor will ideally have sound local service and warranty backup in and close to operational area of the Tennant Creek region.
