The Carpentaria Highway Upgrade project involves upgrading a single lane seal to a two lane seal, from the Stuart Highway turn off at Chainages 0km to 50km (Separable Portion One) and 50km to 140km (Separable Portion Two).The scope of works includes widening the formation, earthworks to raise the centreline of the road, flood immunity improvements, new pavement material, sealing and line marking, and installation of road furniture, in accordance with current standards and requirements for selected priority sections. The works will be delivered under a Design and Construct delivery method but with the unique feature of being delivered in two stages as follows:Stage One: Design of Carpentaria Highway from chainage 0km (Stuart Highway turnoff) to chainage 50kmDelivery of the reconstruction of Carpentaria Highway from chainage 0km to chainage 50kmDesign of Carpentaria Highway from chainage 50km to chainage 140kmNegotiation and agreement on the lump sum price for Stage TwoStage Two:Delivery of the reconstruction of Carpentaria Highway from chainage 50km to chainage 140km
