CDU - Partnership Agreement - Provision of Limmen Bight Marine Park Values Mapping 2023/24

Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security (DEPWS) under the CDU Partnership agreement in collaboration with CDU University require a field-based research study of Limmen Bright Marine Park Values Mapping 2023/2024. Extensive benthic habitat surveys were completed in Marra Sea Country in the Limmen Bight Marine Park (NT) and Limmen Marine Park (Cth) in 2021 and Yanyuwa Sea Country in 2022. These surveys confirmed extensive and diverse 8 species seagrass meadows throughout the region and have established a 'baseline' for designing a benthic monitoring program. However, several key areas were not surveyed in 2021-2022 due to logistical and funding constrains. Key dates and deliverables: Subtidal survey with live-aboard and ranger vessels - October 2023 GIS, maps and metadata complete - May 2024 Reports and communication products - May 2024 (Yanywa) and July 2024 (Limmen)
