Kurundi Road is currently undergoing maintenance and repair works across multiple chainages. Several sections still require additional attention particularly gravel resheeting, to reinstate the pavement to its preexisting condition. The primary objective is to restore pavement integrity and improve overall road safety along Kurundi Road. These activities form part of the Immediate Reinstatement Works (IRW) program to restore trafficability and ensure road-user safety following extensive flood damage under Event 1258 - Barkly Region Secondary and Local Roads Emergency Reinstatement. The scope and quantities for these works are referenced in the Road Defect Log Sheet. The scope includes, but is not limited to: Pavement reinstatement Supply and placement of gravel base material to restore existing surface. All works are to be undertaken with the intent of restoring safe access as efficiently as practicable, returning the road to its pre-flood condition.
