McMonty Ventilation Hoods (by Medihood) are an option to support greater risk minimisation to staff and patients within the outpatient dialysis setting. These have been used with success for the treatment of dialysis patients positive with COVID-19 in a controlled setting within health services such as The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Western Health (Victoria). The Hoods are part of a free-standing system that is able to extract air from within a confined space whilst allowing full visibility of the patient. The system is an addition to full PPE and is not to be used in place of PPE or as an alternative to safe ventilation within the dialysis setting.
