# ✈️ Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) Rebate Program Round 2 The Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) Rebate Program Round 2, issued by the **Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts**, offers a **demand-driven** funding opportunity with **$8,400,000** available nationally. This program aims to **incentivise voluntary uptake of ADS-B equipment** in Australian-registered aircraft, enhancing **aviation safety, efficiency, and search and rescue capabilities** for Australian airspace users. ## 🎯 Program Objectives: * **Improved Situational Awareness**: Enhanced electronic visibility for pilots of VFR and IFR aircraft. * **Enhanced Search and Rescue**: Better air traffic information for emergency services. * **Accurate ATC Information**: Additional and precise automated aircraft position data for air traffic controllers (ATC) concerning VFR aircraft. ## 🛠️ Eligible Equipment: The program funds two classes of ADS-B equipment: * **Installed ADS-B Equipment**: Provides ADS-B-OUT functionality for ATC aircraft separation. * **Portable ADS-B EC Equipment**: Provides local electronic traffic information. ## ✅ Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be the registered owner of a crewed aircraft operating under **Visual Flight Rules (VFR)** or **Instrument Flight Rules (IFR)**, listed in an approved registration database such as the **CASA Australian aircraft register (VH aircraft: fixed wing, helicopter, balloon, glider)**, or an approved Australian Sport Aviation organisation (**Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAus), Australian Sport Rotorcraft Association (ASRA), Sports Aviation Federation of Australia (SAFA)**). Eligible purchases/installations include: * A device providing ADS-B-OUT functionality or an ADS-B EC device (but not both), purchased after **20 December 2021**. * A device providing ADS-B-IN functionality or a device providing ADS-B-IN and OUT functionality, purchased after **31 May 2024**. Previous ADS-B Round 1 recipients are eligible if the new equipment adds ADS-B IN functionality not previously available, or if upgrading from an EC device to installed equipment. ## 📞 Application & Support: Further details on eligibility are in the grant opportunity guidelines.
