# CEWH Environmental Activities Grant

**Overview:**
The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder (CEWH) is offering grant funding for environmental activities in the Murray-Darling Basin. This initiative, funded by the sale of annual water allocations (temporary water), aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of environmental water delivery, consistent with the CEWH Environmental Activities Framework (CEAF).
**🔗 Eligible Activities & Focus Areas:**
Eligible projects include, but are not limited to:
* Infrastructure upgrades to improve environmental water delivery efficiency.
* Restoration and protection of native flora, fauna, and habitat.
* Research that advances scientific and cultural knowledge for environmental water delivery.
* Projects integrating Traditional Owners' knowledge for environmental and cultural outcomes.
The CEWH particularly encourages projects that:
* Contribute to Basin Plan ecological outcomes, including protection of threatened species, migratory species, and internationally significant wetlands.
* Demonstrate strong linkages with First Nations communities, fostering greater participation and incorporating Traditional Owner land and water management knowledge.
* Are located in areas without prior project implementation.
* Are 'shovel ready' with short completion timeframes.
* Include co-funding and/or in-kind contributions.
Proposals are eligible from all basin valleys where the CEWH holds water entitlements.

Applicants must have their project proposal pre-approved by the CEWH and possess a letter of acceptance, including a unique identification code, serving as an invitation to apply via GrantConnect.
