Project: Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub Project (HVHH) Project owner: KENT PROJECTS PTY LTD & VALMEC AUSTRALIA PTY LTD Location: NSW Australia Work package status: Closed Scope: Full Scope Work package description: Temporary Facilities Project overview: IntroductionValmec Kent Joint Venture (VKJV) have been engaged formally by Origin Energy Future Fuels (Origin) to execute a Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) for the initial phase of the Project. Following delivery of FEED, the strategy is for VKJV to take the Project through full EPC execution, subject to appropriate approvals being achieved.As part of the early FEED phase, VKJV is looking to get some high-level budget pricing on key selected packages to understand the Order of Magnitude cost. A formal inqury for these packages will be followed in due course once the engineering is progressed to sufficient detail.Project BackgroundThe Project objective is to develop an integrated group of production and distribution assets required to establish a hydrogen hub. Hydrogen will be produced from recycled water and renewable electricity using a grid-connected 60MW (nominal) electrolyser.Hydrogen gas will then be directed to multiple end uses, including:Local Industry manufacturing Hydrogen will be supplied via pipeline to Orica's Kooragang Island ammonia manufacturing facility.Heavy vehicles and public transport Hydrogen will be compressed and distributed by road to public and transport industry refueling depots for use in trucking and passenger bus operations in the Hunter, Central Coast, and Greater Sydney regions. The project will include two satellite hydrogen refueling stations supplied with hydrogen by tube trailers filled at the production facility.
