This duty of care also extends to other workers and members of the public who engage in services conducted by Council. To meet this obligation, Council requires all newly engaged employees to undertake a pre-employment fit for purpose medical assessment to ensure that they are medically fit to undertake the full requirements of their position with Council. Further, from time to time, it is also necessary for Council to seek professional assessments on the medical fitness of existing workers to undertake the full range of duties in their position with the organisation.
