Summary and scope

The Demaine is a building that is over 100 years old and is located on the Queensland Heritage Register. It has been identified by the Building, Engineering and Maintenance Department (BEMS) that the structural integrity of the building in various locations is compromised. The Demaine also has several compliance issues, which includes the Level 1 Balustrade along with asbestos material in the waterproof membrane located on the level 1 veranda floor. These items need to be addressed to ensure ongoing safety for our patients, staff and the broader community.
