The building was built in 2019 and has a mono pitch roof (approximately 6°) structure with lightweight steel roofing and wall cladding, and timber structural diagrid framing supported by timber columns on shallow concrete foundations. The building is generally open plan with some offices, public gathering spaces, and amenities which include a commercially operated café.Mon Repos Conservation Park is located on the lands of the First Nations Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng & Taribelang Bunda Peoples.
