Summary and scope

Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) is seeking to engage an appropriately experienced Contractor (incorporating a team of all necessary sub-consultants and sub-contractors) for the provision of the full range of construction services required for the Springsure Aquatic Centre. The facility consists of a 25m lap pool and a circular wading pool, which was constructed around 1965. The facility received a refurbishment in 2008 and some minor update works have been completed since the pool’s original construction, however the general layout is relatively unchanged. CHRC has undertaken a review of the current facility and in turn developed a detailed design package (‘The Concept’) for the project. The project scope will involve complete replacement of the 25m pool, construction of a new water play structure, and removal of the existing wading pool and installation of a 17m programme pool. Associated works include provision of: construction of a new pump shed and storage area; new pumping and sand filter; replacement of heating equipment; stormwater drainage structures; associated civil, hydraulic, and electrical works.
