T2024-014 Weed Management - Various Locations - Cloncurry

Summary and scope

Cloncurry Shire Council is looking to engage a suitably qualified contractor to deliver and/or coordinate the delivery of a number of weed management campaigns in/around the town of Cloncurry, including the targetting of rubbervine, calotrope, castor oil plant, Leucaena, mequite, prickly acacia and other weeds at the following locations: Cloncurry River (eastern and western banks): Railway Bridge to Ernest Henry Bridge, Ernest Henry Bridge to Hensley Causeway Coppermine Creek: Sheaffe Street to the Anabranch, Anabranch to the Cloncurry River Chinaman Creek Dam Fuse Plug and Levee Wall (all plants, shrubs, trees within relevant area to be targetted). Given the location and site characteristics, it is anticipated that a mix of approaches will be required: mechanical removal, chemical spraying, aerial spraying etc. The aim is to complete this campaign in sufficient time to allow for a burn in late September/early October 2024.
