Project: Tarong West Wind Farm Project owner: RES AUSTRALIA PTY LTD Location: QLD Australia Work package status: Open Scope: Full Scope Work package description: The Scope of Work (SOW) is to supply Steel Reinforcement Supply Services. Project overview: RES is the world's largest independent renewable energy company, active in 11 countries around the globe. Establishing operations in Australia in 2004, RES leveraged global knowledge and talent to develop projects in the early phases of the renewable energy industry in Australia.RES is proposing to develop the Tarong West Wind Farm, located within the South Burnett Council area, approximately 30km west of Kingaroy and 8km north-west of Kumbia. Following preliminary assessments, RES has spent much of 2022 reaching out to the local community to understand the potential impacts and opportunities that may flow from a renewable energy project in the region.If developed, the Tarong West Wind Farm will deliver significant local benefits within the proposed Southern Queensland Renewable Energy Zone (Southern QREZ), through local employment opportunities and benefit sharing programs with the local community.Tarong West Wind Farm will consist of the following components:- up to 97 wind turbines with associated hard standing areas and access roads- up to 6 temporary laydown areas and stockpile areas- three 33kV to 275kV substations and one PLQ switching station to facilitate connection to connect to existing 275 kV overhead powerlines- 1 battery energy storage system (BESS) up to 100MW installed capacity- 2 site compounds and 2 batch plants- 6 collector stations- 2 operations and maintenance facilities including control centre, offices, workshop, warehouse, water tanks, septic systems and parking- 2 washdown areas- Internal electrical reticulation consisting of overhead lines and underground cabling.
