K'gari is a UNESCO World Heritage Area located off the coast of Queensland. Recognised as the largest sand island in the world, K'gari boasts a rich tapestry of natural and cultural values, making it a vital site for conservation and tourism. The QPWS Eurong operational base was constructed in 1989 and is no longer fit for purpose, with a refurbishment required to address current demand and operational requirements.
