Summary and scope
In the budget announcement on 23 May 2023, the Victorian Government committed an investment to build a Sunbury Campus, to be operated by Bendigo Kangan Institute. The estimated completion date is quarter four 2027, to allow classes to commence in 2028.The Sunbury campus is seeking to address a skills training shortage in the Hume LGA, and Victoria more broadly. The new campus will consist of approximately 1550sqm of building and 3000sqm of landscaping.The building will showcase an innovative learning environment that is high-tech, industry-linked with a focus on hair and beauty, digital technology, and general-purpose classrooms. The building will provide administration and support spaces to compliment BKI’s existing campuses including Broadmeadows and Bendigo.Bendigo Kangan Institute has engaged Spowers Architects as the Principal Design Consultant (PDC). The PDC tender documents (drawings and schedules) for the construction works will be completed in early 2025. The Request for Tender for these works is schedule to be released in the first quarter of 2026 as a Design & Construct (D&C) engagement.BKI invites appropriately qualified Design and Construction Head Contractors (Respondents) to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Design and Construction Head Contractors services for the Project as described within this document.The purpose of this EOI process is to assess the experience, capability, capacity and commitment of Respondents to deliver the Project, seeking to shortlist Respondents to then be invited to participate in the Request for Tender (RFT) procurement stage.
