Summary and scope
In the budget announcement on 23 May 2023, the Victorian Government committed to a $55 million investment to build a Melton Campus, to be operated by Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI). Melton campus will be located on part of 15 Hollingsworth Drive, in Cobblebank – which has been identified as part of Melbourne’s rapidly expanding western growth corridor. The $55 million investment will be utilised to deliver Stage 1 of the Melton Campus which includes an acquisition of 1.4Ha of land for the construction of a Trades and Skills focused education centre and the establishment of campus facilities that will support future growth. The estimated completion date is mid-quarter 2 2028, to allow the commencement of classes in quarter 3.Development of the Melton Campus includes the delivery of external services, including Greater Western Water owned sewer infrastructure.
