Summary and scope
14/4/2026 11:00 AM AET Introduction The City of Sydney ("the City") invites tender submissions for the carrying out of Design and Construction of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure at Alexandra Canal Depot (the depot), 67c Bourke Road Alexandria NSW, in accordance with this request. Overview and Scope The City has committed to a 20% reduction in fleet emissions by June 2030 from a 2023 baseline and to have all light commercial and passenger vehicles electric by the same date, as per the Environmental Strategy 2025-2030. The City also aims to achieve zero fleet emissions by 2035 or sooner. To achieve this commitment, additional electrical infrastructure is required to facilitate vehicle charging at the depot. The depot hosts a large portion of the City's operational fleet and is a critical site to implement electric vehicle charging to achieve the City's targets. The purpose of this tender is to engage a suitably qualified and experienced company to design and construct the required electric infrastructure for the depot. The scope includes reticulation design, distribution boards design, fabrication and installation, main switchboard modification, civil works, cabling works, installation of housings for future load management systems, and compliance testing of the completed work. A key scope requirement is to prepare and execute an appropriate construction methodology to allow safe completion of the site works with minimal disruption to depot operations. The scope does not include a load management system or supply and installation of vehicle chargers. This tender scope includes the works that will enable future installation of chargers and load management systems. Refer to Part B - Specification for further information. Tenderers must submit their response in the manner required by this document. A site visit has been scheduled for this request for tender, refer to 2.3, Standard Conditions of Request for Tender. The City is committed to creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses. The City encourages First Nations People owned and operated businesses, Local SME, Start-ups as well as social enterprises (including Cooperatives) to work with us and respond to this opportunity. NOTES: any contract departures need to be submitted to the Procurement Representative as soon as possible but at least 10 business days before the RFT closing date and time.
