9/6/2026 11:00 AM AET The City of Sydney invites Tenders for the carrying out of Construction Services for Park Irrigation Controller Supply and Installation in accordance with this request for tender (RFT). The City of Sydney manages 216ha of open space, including 362 parks and sports fields. An asset management approach is taken to the management of parks assets to ensure consideration is given to the full asset lifecycle, that risks are identified and managed and that asset condition informs priorities in forward capital works programs and budgets. This approach ensures park assets are responsibly managed, so all parks are in a safe condition and fit for use by the community. The project There are approximately 100 controllers across the City's parks controlled by various brands and configurations. There are multiple controllers in some sites, and some controllers control multiple sites. Many of the sites contain bespoke controllers known as "Watering And Lighting Tool and Reporting System" (WALTRS). The City aims to replace all existing controllers with new off-the-shelf controllers. All new controllers are to be controlled by a single, cloud based central control system. The City is seeking to engage a suitably experienced contractor team to procure a new irrigation control system, and undertake the installation of the new irrigation controllers and irrigation flow meters, as well as any associated site works, within the City's parks and assets. Please note: The City of Sydney may seek technical advice from Water Wise Consulting Pty Ltd (Water Wise), only when required as part of the tender evaluation process. Water Wise's advice will strictly be technical and will not influence the selection of the supplier and Water Wise will not be present at or involved in the final evaluation meeting. Works are planned to be undertaken in a staged approach based on site priority between August 2026 and April 2027. Please note that there will be an online briefing held via Microsoft Teams.
