Summary and scope

18/6/2026 11:00 AM AET Introduction The Council of the City of Sydney ("the City") invites tenders for the carrying out of construction works for the Ward Park Upgrade in accordance with this Request for Tender. Background and Overview Ward Park is a significant green space in Surry Hills, heavily used by a broad cross-section of the community including local dog-walkers and commuters, skate and playground users and people enjoying calm recreation and reflection. The Ward Park renewal is part of the 10-Year Parks Renewal Program, initiated due to the park's overall condition. The City has an ongoing parks and playgrounds improvement program. The program aims to improve the quality of open space and play experiences, provide a diverse range of play opportunities and improve the amenity of green spaces in our neighbourhoods. Ward Park site interfaces with live roadways and a functioning light rail corridor. The site is bounded - To the north by Devonshire Street and the Surry Hills light rail station. - To the east by Marlborough Street and St Peter's Catholic Church - To the south by Lansdowne St - To the west by Northcott Estate and the Northcott Community Centre The proposed scope of works includes the demolition of existing playgrounds and the construction of a playground and adjacent areas including walls, paths, signage, park furniture, playground equipment, irrigation, fencing, turf, garden beds, lighting and services. Refer to Part B Specification and Performance for further details. Tenderers must submit their response in the manner required by this document.
