Summary and scope
The River Murray in South Australia Constraints Measure (SA Constraints Measure) project seeks to remove operational and physical constraints that limit the delivery of environmental water within the River Murray system. The project delivers environmental outcomes and improved community resilience to high-flow events of up to 80,000 ML/d through targeted floodplain infrastructure works and impediment removals. The current implementation phase commenced in 2022 and concludes on 30 June 2027. To support project continuation beyond 2027, a future funding proposal will be developed to respond to Commonwealth funding opportunities aligned to the Murray Darling Basin Plan. The proposal will include the next tranche of floodplain infrastructure works required to achieve project objectives.
