Summary and scope
The Humanitarian Deployable Power Restoration Capability (the Capability) is a specialist technical resource that maintains a standing roster of qualified electrical line technicians and associated cache equipment. Since 2021, this Capability has ensured Australia can rapidly provide technical surge support to Pacific power utilities when disasters disrupt electricity networks. The Capability focuses on readiness, technical competence, and interoperable equipment, enabling rapid mobilisation when requested through the AUSASSISTPLAN. DFAT is procuring the next phase of the Capability.
