Summary and scope

GRDC is investing in a regionally relevant pulse research, demonstration and extension program across northern NSW and Queensland to improve the profitability, reliability and adoption of priority pulse crops in northern farming systems. The investment will generate locally relevant field trial and demonstration data, address key agronomic constraints and opportunities with growers and advisers, and deliver practical extension to support decisions on pulse fit, crop and variety choice, establishment, nutrition, pest, disease and weed management, harvest logistics, grain quality and farming system integration. Delivery will use a hub-and-spoke model and link with GRDC’s national pulse coordination, monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure regional work is aligned with broader pulse research, breeding, market and farming systems priorities.
