Summary and scope

CFA is a community-based volunteer fire and emergency service. CFA’s 1,140 volunteer brigades are trained to a high standard using nationally recognised training packages and enterprise units which facilitate interoperability. A core capability mechanism for the agency is effective and efficient delivery of training of its people – both volunteers and staff. High-quality training ensures our members have the necessary skills and display the appropriate behaviours to fulfil our mission and goals, in line with doctrine, contemporary methods and best practices. CFA relies on its Learning Hub to equip members (volunteers and employees) with training that strengthens their capabilities and capacity and ensures their safety and the safety of the community.
