Summary and scope

IntroductionThe Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is responsible for Victoria’s energy, environment, water, agriculture, forestry, resources, climate action, and emergency management functions maximising connections between the environment, community, industry and economy.In response to the needs of Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians and broader government commitments to Aboriginal Self-Determination, DEECA developed Pupangarli Marnmarnepu 'Owning Our Future’ Aboriginal Self-Determination Reform Strategy 2020-2026 . The Strategy acts as a roadmap of how DEECA will enable Traditional Owner self-determination at DEECA and details the outcomes, indicators and measures that will inform yearly priorities, which will be measured in partnership with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians.
