Summary and scope

Royal Melbourne Hospital ( RMH ) invites suitably qualified and experienced organisations to submit a proposal for the provision of Transition Care Program Bed Based General Practitioner (TCPBBGP) and any related Services for Royal Melbourne Hospital. Royal Melbourne Hospital has reviewed the current medical model for the TCP BB program and is seeking to transition this to a GP service. It is currently managed by Aged Care Registrars and Consultants but as a non-admitted program the care needs of the patient better match those of a GP service model. This approach has the full support of the leadership and Medical Director of Home First. RMH is open to all proposals from GP practices of sufficient size and flexibility to provide the extent of the services required outlined in Appendix A. RMH also acknowledges that The Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) revenue that is available for this service is unlikely to cover the expenses incurred by GP’s therefore RMH is open to proposals that require a supplement i.e. (a small stipend) but this request must be within our limited existing budget. As an outcome of this EOI, RMH aims to establish a contract with a GP practice that will provide the necessary services to support this program.
