The successful submissions were for the implementation of a smart cities program, that entailed the installation of a network of fibre optic cabling to connect endpoints for the enablement of public Wi-Fi and to increase coverage of CCTV across the main Charters Towers city area. All works to be completed under the two grants is to be finalised by 30 June 2019.
