Carpentaria Shire is located on the Gulf of Carpentaria approximately 700km west of Cairns and covers an area of approximately 65,000 square kilometres with its administrative and commercial centre located at Normanton. Council has responsibility for maintenance and upgrades to approximately 1,655 kilometres of Council controlled road and approximately 610 kilometres of State controlled roads. To assist with the proposed road construction and maintenance works Carpentaria Shire Council (CSC) is looking to dry hire plant, 4x4 vehicles for predominant use on gravel roads, and miscellaneous equipment. Suppliers are invited to tender for each of the equipment categories listed in Part 6 - Response Schedules. Contract term is 8 months April to December 2020.
