T024/21 Big Rocks Weir Geotechnical Drilling

Summary and scope

Council requires a drilling contractor to drill bore holes and conduct packer testing in order to allow the refinement of the design for Big Rocks Weir and for a causeway at Big Bend. The contractor will have to comply with all relevant safety, environmental, waterway, cultural heritage and land access requirements. The contractor will have to drill up to 15 boreholes ranging from 15m to 30m depth including vertical and inclined bores. The contractor will also have to construct temporary access tracks to allow their equipment to reach the designated locations. It may be necessary to construct temporary waterway barriers. There will be a site visit conducted on 16 Jun 21. It is highly recommended that tenderers attend this inspection to fully appreciate the challenges involved in this job.
