Purchase of 3.5 tonne mini excavator

Summary and scope

The Shire of Kent wishes to purchase the best possible mini excavator in the 3.0-3.5 tonne weight range with a suitable 4500kg rated aluminium trailer to be purchased together as a package from the one supplier. Our selection will be based on the best value to the Shire, which will include both the overall price (excavator + trailer) and the excavator’s capabilities such as lifting capacity (front and side), warranty, delivery schedule etc. The Excavator shall meet current OH&S regulations and include the following features: a. No Cab b. Zero tail swing c. Swing boom d. Rubber tracks e. Front blade f. Tilting head g. quick release coupler/hitch (manual type) with lifting hook h. 550mm bucket with 3 teeth i. Flashing orange light for road works j. 2-way radio connection k. Auxiliary hydraulics to support attachments l. delivery to Nyabing The 4500kg aluminium plant trailer shall include: a. A spare tyre fitted to the trailer b. Loading ramps c. low TARE weight d. 3 inch ball hitch connection (or similar) The supplier shall provide a calculation of the total weight of the Trailer (including spare tyre) + Mini Excavator + Tilting Head + Quick Release Coupler / Hitch that shows it is less than 4500kg The Shire requests supplier to provide the following options: Upgrade to Cab (including air-conditioning) and extra weight Upgrade to from tilting head to rotating head Upgrade to quick release coupler/hitch (hydraulic type) with lifting hook Retractable undercarriage Extra attachments: o Trench Bucket o Drain Bucket o Auger (s) o Plate Compactor o Roller Compactor o Ripper o Stump grinder Any other suggestions from the supplier The supplier is requested provide a quote for all the above items, the weights, data sheets, delivery time and proposed warranty period.
