Summary and scope

Noosa Council (the ‘Principal’) invites tenders from suitably qualified contractors and suppliers for appointment to a Register of Pre-qualified Suppliers (ROPS) of Fleet Mechanical Repairs and Maintenance Services as described in more detail in “Part 5 – Scope”. The Suppliers may be engaged to deliver workshop based and/or mobile mechanical and maintenance services. The Contract will be established into separate categories as listed below and shall be performed at the Suppliers workshop premises and/or by a mobile service provided by the Supplier. This Invitation to Tender is seeking to create a ROPS for the following categories ONLY: Category 01 - Auto Electrical Services and Air Conditioning Services Category 02 - Hydraulic Equipment Services Category 03 - Mechanical Services for Small Plant Category 04 - Service and Maintenance of Heavy Plant & Equipment Category 05 - Metal Fabrication Repairs Category 06 - Tyres, Tyre Repairs and Fitting Category 07 - Condition Assessments for Light Vehicles Category 08 - Upholstery and Canvas Repairs Category 09 - Windscreen and Glass Services Category 10 - Service and Maintenance of Light Vehicles Category 11 - Automotive Panel Repairs for Light Vehicles Category 12 - Automotive Panel Repairs for Heavy Vehicles and Heavy Plant & Equipment Respondents may submit for one (1) or more of the specific categories listed above within their tender. All servicing, repairs and maintenance services are to be conducted by highly experienced or qualified tradespersons that meet the relevant standards for that type of service where applicable. Respondents can submit for workshop servicing and / or mobile servicing for any one or more categories. The ROPS will be established for an initial term of twelve (12) months. Four (4) further periods of up to twelve (12) months each may be granted at the Principal’s absolute discretion. The Schedule of Pricing will be firm for the duration of each period. Whilst a Schedule of Pricing will apply under the ROPS, the Principal reserves the right to seek quotes from the Suppliers on the ROPS. The intent of this Invitation to Tender is to establish a ROPS (Register of Prequalified Suppliers) that includes a number of suppliers that are capable of responding to the Council’s requirements in a timely manner; and where the Council can either: • directly engage a supplier from the ROPS on an as required basis utilizing the rates provided within the Schedule of Pricing or on other rates as agreed; or • request quote(s) from one or more suppliers on the ROPS on an as required basis for fixed term services utilising the rates provided within the Schedule of Pricing or on other rates as agreed, or for a lump sum price. Inclusion onto this ROPS does not provide a guarantee of work during the term of this Contract. Whilst Council encourages all capable suppliers to tender, Council advises that the Council intends to utilise this ROPS to encourage the development of competitive local business and industry. This may result in Council giving preference to local suppliers over non-local suppliers when engaging suppliers from the ROPS.
