IRCT-DYS3-0821-250 Dysart WWTP East Trickling Filter

Summary and scope

The Dysart WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant) is currently having several infrastructure upgrades and rehabilitation projects. An assessment of the plant and concrete infrastructure was completed in June 2021. The remaining areas still requiring activities are: • Rehabilitation of the rock filled Trickling Filters media, underdrainage and structure. • Rehabilitation of various other concrete structure (most only require minor repairs). The plant has two (2) trickling filters. The designs of the two filters are slightly different with the eastern filter (Trickling Filter “A”) not having underdrain box-coverts channels across the full width of the filter. In summary, this project is to: • Remove rotating arms, store safety and then reinstall at end of works • Remove the rock media on the Eastern trickling filter. • Grade & remove unsuitable material. • Undertake concrete rehabilitation of this filter. • Install additional underdrain channels as required. • Reinstate the rock media and if required add additional rock media. • Rehabilitation of other concrete structures at the Dysart WTTP. • Upgrade a section of 250mm pipe to 300mm Ductile Iron Pipe.
