Summary and scope

The Lockyer Valley Region is frequented by tens of thousands of vehicles daily (Queensland Government, Open Data Portal), along the main highway passing through the region, connecting Toowoomba to Ipswich and different routes frequently used by Lockyer Valley residents and residents from outside of the region to get to and from different towns. The project seeks to take advantage of these routes and of the number of vehicles travelling every day to deliver important messages to improve situation awareness in times of natural disasters affecting road closures and hazards, and advertising local events within the region to promote tourism by the implementation of electronic devices.
