Summary and scope
During 2019 Council adopted a community-led Master Plan for the development of the Clermont Saleyards and Showgrounds Precinct over the next 20 years. As part of Council's overall master plan for the Clermont Showgrounds, the Saleyards were identified as requiring upgrades; to not only rectify issues with aging infrastructure, but to improve capacity and service delivery for the regions beef industry. The Clermont Saleyards currently processes 12,000 head of sale cattle; but temporarily hosts an additional 60,000 head of cattle during transitions to their final destinations. To capture a greater share of the cattle sales in the region; and to achieve greater cross functionality, Council seeks quotations from suitability qualified vendors to design and install a new draft on the northern side of the Clermont Saleyards. To date, Council has drafted a proposed design of which is to be utilised as a concept only; for the respondent to design a fit for purpose push rod draft system that is functional, operational and safe. The successful vendor will be required to: •Attend in person/conduct desktop exercise to ensure the vendor is familiar with the layout and functionality of the current yard set up, prior to a design being formulated.•Design a functional, operational and safe push rod draft system, ensuring there is little or no redundant space in the new design;•Ensure the new structure; including elevated walkways, stairs and handrails are installed compliantly and to industry standards and specifications.•Ensure that the design seamlessly connects to existing infrastructure;•Provide a preliminary design option for Council's consideration, prior to works commencing on the installation of the new draft;•Work in conjunction with the Business Manager Saleyard & Showgrounds to ensure saleyard operation disruptions are minimised when planning to install the new draft;•Remove and dispose of all waste materials from immediate worksite; with all redundant steel to be relocated to an area within the broader precinct as per instruction from the Business Manager Saleyard & Showgrounds.•Install the new draft on site, sourcing locally made materials and/or services to not only meet QLD charter for local content statement for intent; but to meet time constraints for project.
