Flinders Shire Council (Council) recognises that there is a need to increase accommodation in Hughenden to satisfy the growing demands of the community and travellers. The Council wishes to encourage the development and operation of all forms of accommodation in Hughenden including motels, apartments, cabin parks and hostels to increase the capacity of Hughenden’s temporary accommodation. The Council does not have any preferred form of accommodation. - The purpose of this Invitation is to provide all interested parties with the opportunity to submit an outline of their own proposal based on the form(s) of accommodation they would like to develop on the Site. The Site comprises of two parcels of freehold land owned by Council and located at McLay Street and Flinders Highway Hughenden (the Site). The location of the Site is shown on the site plan in the Part 4 Schedule. The Site has a 83.9 m frontage to McLay Street and an overall 213.8m frontage to the Flinders Highway including 20.7m between the two parcels. The frontage of each individual parcel is 96.56m. The Site is located in the Centre Zone as defined by the Flinders Planning Scheme. The Council intends for the Site to be developed as accommodation and associated facilities. From the expressions of interest received, the Council intends to develop a shortlist of proponents who will be invited to submit formal tenders under a separate request for tender process. It is intended that the tenderers will be required to include concept plans for the development of the Site, and a formal tender price for the purchase of the Site. It is intended that a contract with the successful tenderer will be entered into in August 2022.
