22164 - Stanthorpe Library and Gallery Refurbishment and Expansion Project

Summary and scope

Council has successfully applied for and secured a grant from the Australian Government through the Building Better Regions (BBR) programme to undertake the redevelopment of the Stanthorpe Library and Regional Art Gallery, which has substantially outgrown its infrastructure capabilities. The successfully completed project will deliver learning and cultural infrastructure that has a proven economic, cultural and social outcome for the Southern Downs region. It will provide Stanthorpe with an iconic cultural tourism asset and add significant value to the regional tourism profile a refreshed tourism product offering for an increasingly discerning visitor market. It will also directly meet the expectations of the community for arts, learning and cultural services. The awarded Contractor will be engaged under a AS4000 works contract for the Construction portion of the project. The extent of works will be further defined within this document to deliver a project in accordance with the DA Consent and established project objectives and requirements contained within this document and supporting documentation.
