Summary and scope
The Ipswich City Council’s Flood Warning Infrastructure and Systems include flood monitoring sites (otherwise referred to as flood gauges or flood alert sites) at various locations throughout the Ipswich City Councils Local Government Area (LGA). Currently there are 41 flood gauge sites. This may increase over time with the addition of 2 more sites expected in the next 12 months. The flood gauge sites provide Council with the ability to monitor environmental activities including rainfall or stream levels (or both) and utilise this information for various purposes such as flood forecasting, situational awareness, and reporting. Council's objective is to enter into a contract with a suitably qualified supplier for monitoring, scheduled maintenance and unscheduled maintenance of Flood Warning Infrastructure and Systems.
