Council’s DEPS undertakes assessment of all development applications throughout the Council area. Assessment of development applications by the DEPS includes Material Change of Use, Reconfiguring a Lot, Operational Works, and Changes to Development Approval. DEPS incorporates an Engineering Assessment Team who is responsible for assessment of all engineering aspects of development. This includes engineering assessment input into the assessment of development applications for Material Change of Use, Reconfiguring a Lot, Planning Scheme Works, and Change to Development Approval. It also includes assessment and conditioning of Operational Works applications, checking of engineering plans and the conduct of on-site attendances to inspect development works for on/off maintenance. Further, it includes the review of survey plans submitted to Council for endorsement, negotiation of development bonds and securities, and participation in the negotiation of Infrastructure Agreements.
